Taroona Lounge Bar has been open for about 2 years, and is part of the development of the old Taroona Hotel.
     I must say I am impressed with it. I have driven past lots of times, but in the last couple of weeks I have taken the time to go inside, have a look, and taste their wares.
     The atmosphere inside is excellent. They have a lot of seating at tables, for those who would like to sit down for a meal. Along one side there are also quite of number of lounges and coffee tables, for those who maybe are just enjoying a drink and a relax with friends. There are seats next to the floor to ceiling windows which look out over the vista of the Derwent River. Very nice. And as their name suggests, they also have a fully stocked bar.
     Now the food. MmmmmMmmmm. Last week I had the spiced calamari rings. They were so delicious I took Lois back again today and repeated my order. And they were just as good the second time! We also saw other items on the menu as other peoples meals were served. They looked awesome.  Very generous portions of fish and chips, Beef and Guinness Pies, and much more.
     As you can tell, I will be going back again in the not too distant future.

Margate Village Supermarket and Bugsy's Takeaways

Margate Village Supermarket and Bugsy's Takeaway is a well known stop for top quality take away food.
     We went there tonight on our way home from a spot of fishing. We had hamburgers and chips. Excellent meals. The kids enjoyed their burgers too.
     It seems a very popular choice with the locals. There were many people coming and going while we were waiting. Many of them had phoned orders through and had come to pick them up. Good service.
     While we were there I had the opportunity to look around and here is what I found. A fully laden supermarket, where you could get most of what you need, including fresh fruit and vegies, cheeses, frozen meals and pet food, as well as other interesting items such as Fairy Floss in a cup and a disposable Breath Alcohol Analyser.

Yesterday I went into The Art of Tea, in Kingston. Excellent little shop. Samantha has over 100 different types of tea available. Many of them are on display in the shop. You can open the display jars and have a smell. I was pleasantly surprised by the great variety.


As well as the leaf tea, The Art of Tea also have a choice of tea pots, strainers etc.
