Clennetts Mitre 10

Clennetts Mitre 10 is Kingborough's largest hardware store, and as such has everything you need.

Their garden and landscape centre has won multiple awards, and for good reason.
It is very well set up and they have expert staff to give the advise for your next project.
Whenever I go to Mitre 10, even if has got nothing to do with gardening, I like to have a short stroll along their man made river feature. There is a certain calming effect from the sound of running water.

They have many other departments too. Go have a look.

For their contact details go to http://www.kingboroughbusinessdirectory.com.au/ and search for hardware.

Banjos are a successful franchise. One of their stores is in Margate.
As a bakery they have beautiful fresh bread, specialty pies, pastries, sandwiches and sweets.
Try one of their tasty foccacias. Nice.

Repco

Another big name in Australia is Repco.
They have everything you need to repair, maintain and beautify your pride and joy.
I like their audio wall, where they have displayed all the current stereos, amps, speakers etc. Plus they have all the hardware to make sure they all work to their full potential.
We have two cars. One newish (2001) and the other not so (1976). I have been able to get parts for both without too much hassle.
Repco have engine and transmission oils to suit any year model and engine type.
I also love a good car polish.  It can make all the difference to the look of your vehicle. Again, heaps to choose from.
As well as the above, Repco also have car seat covers, trailer accessories, tools galore, and plenty of bling.

Subway

My favourite takeaway meal is definitely a footlong Subway sub.  Oh yeah. Mmm, Mmm.
They have a great tried and tested system of providing top quality food at a reasonable price.
There are plenty of healthy options too.

If you want a platter made up for a function of some sort, or a work lunch etc, give them a call and they can cater for that.

Eat in or takeaway. Open early for breakfast.
Breakfast tip: Subways egg and bacan rolls are cheap, and delicious. I recommend the hot chilli sauce to go with it.

Brookfield Vineyard

Today Lois and I went to Brookfield Vineyard for a lovely morning tea with some friends. Mmmm. Nachos and coffee for me, English Breakfast tea and orange and almond cake for Lois. Yummo!
Brookfield is set up to cater for just a few, as in our case, or for much larger functions.  A few months ago we attended a business function there which had about 70 guests or so, and we were comfortably cared for.
They also have heaps of tables and chairs in different areas of the property.  Some outside, and some in different rooms inside the main building too. And the gifts, ornaments and other interesting things....  Wow.  Far too many to recount. You'll have to see it for yourself.
Brookfield Vineyard also have various live musicians playing throughout the week as well as other acts. So you can enjoy the added atmosphere this creates while you enjoy a quiet meal, or just a drink or two.
Upstairs they have on display a model English Village and a model German Railway.  Paid tours take you through these attractions.

As I have already said, you have to see it for yourself to fully appreciate it.

Bennetts Furniture

Bennetts Furniture and Bedding is chock a block full of many different types of furniture.
On the ground level they have dining settings, lounge suites, recliners, coffee tables.
When you go up 3 or 4 stairs it opens up to the bedding area. All sizes are available.  Bennetts have many styles of bunk beds which the kids love. I was interested to see that they had a few double beds or bigger ( not a bed sizing expert) with beautiful Blackwood bedheads.  They look great. Of course Bennetts have matresses to suit and lots of other bedroom furniture too.  Bedside tables, tallboys, etc.

Back on the ground floor, you go through a little doorway into yet another area which has things like entertainment units, wall units, corner cabinets bookcases and also a pretty cool bar setup.  Go and have a look.

For those who are a little less able to bounce out of a nice comfortable lounge chair, Bennetts also have a number of those electric powered recliners which move into a position to make it easier to get back on your feet.

So, lets encourage local business. Get behind them, and give them what they want and need. That is, our support.
